Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Well our warm weather went away. It was like 20 yesterday. Now we're back below zero. I gave the girls some pie and collected my one egg. It seems Wilson has given up. I suspect it's because she won't go outside to drink enough water to make eggs. Penny has no fear of snow. She's a tough broad. I can't keep the water inside the coop. It's not big enough and since I have to heat it to keep it from freezing in our arctic temps, it would add too much humidity which would put the girls at risk for frostbite. She's going to have to get over it. Starting wednesday we're going to start seeing temps above zero again so hopefully that will help. Still several weeks away from seeing our last sub zero temps but I feel like this winter has gone pretty smoothly for us as our first chicken winter. I'm pleased so far. It'll still be cold in march but not below zero. Just got the rest of Jan and then Feb to worry about.

I don't really have room in my coop for a water bowl. I built that coop for 4 large fowl but I put 6 in there thanks to chicken math. I already have their good in there. It isn't even a lot of snow. It's like an inch of powder. She will live. I've seen her drinking and stuff she just needs to stop being a baby.

Actually they have trampled the snow down so it's not an inch. Just white ground. Silly birds. It will warm up in a couple days but that snow takes a while to melt being in the shade.

Were they out last winter or were they still babies? My chickens never came out last year but this year the snow doesn't bother them at all.

 This really makes me boil. The raccoon tracks went all around the pen. I need to put the game camera back up. If it comes back.... I will get a trap. :smack I cant shoot critters here. My neighbors are too close.

My pullets hatched on Easter Sunday and do not like the snow. Smoke on the other hand will walk on the snow and Penny might follow. Yesterday Penny got halfway across the yard, stopped under a tree, circled the tree on the grass and turned back for the carport. No snow on her toes. Oh no.... too cold.
