Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

We'll :frow a lot on our way back through
I have had 2 pugs that came from Nebraska, outside of those trips to the border, and this latest drive, I've not spent much time there, but I like it. Rural, friendly...
We're finally heading home, it will take a couple of days and I'm buming a little. I had a call from my neighbor about Sweet Pea. He hurt his leg, it's swollen, hard time walking...but the house sitter said nothing about it.
Neighbor saw he wasn't moving about, and wasn't near water so he brought him some and he drank like he hadn't had anything for too long. He will take care of him til I get back.
Hope everyone had a happy 4th!

You lucked out with such a good neighbor!
Safe travels!

God help me. I need to vent.
Can't say anything on Facebook bc the 2 knuckleheads involved would see, and I have already made 1 feel terrible, and the other is my brother...frankly, he deserves a major lashing but he's likely to blame the other person.
There was an overwhelming odor of feces in the house. Hit me upon opening the door. Brother is just sitting there...says he can't smell it.
Every room on the 1st and 2nd floor had multiple piles of poop, diarrhea and vomit. Every single room.
The lower level was closed off, for perhaps 3 days. 2 cats were down there, with no food or water.
Sweet Pea had been taken into the house by my bro, he never said anything to the neighbor, who was very confused...and he kept showering him, but not drying him, SP's not doing any preening at all. So...he's green and smells like mildew. I think his leg is broken.
I can never take another vacation.

Oh no! That's terrible. Poor Sweet Pea. My hubs is always amazed at how much prep it takes to leave the animals with someone else. I set everything up to be as easy as possible and write copious amounts of notes about what to do just in case. Luckily, my brother and sister are both very practical people, and don't need all my notes, but I do it anyway. Hopefully you can find a competent house sitter someday. Mean time, teach your brother how to use a carpet shampooer!!!

Besides that, how was your trip? Good, I hope! :hugs

Yes, it was a really good trip, Wrangler had a wonderful time, and that's what it was all about.
I did write lists, notes, called and texted to make sure there wasn't something that came up unexpectedly...
My Brother is so bad, so lazy, such a slob. I didn't want him to be involved, but the house sitter found something more fun to do for the weekend and decided to take off. :he

Sweet Pea is the best duck. He loves company, which is killing me to do indoors. I'm in respiratory distress for hours afterward.
He cannot get up to stand. Forget walking. His upper leg joint is very swollen.
I'm looking for Wranglers old doll stroller. I was hoping to reinforce it and make a body sling, so his leg could hang rather than having to sit on an angle.
He enjoyed the bath and blow dry, got almost all the green off his feathers, just a little left on his tail, and he smells all fresh again.
So...he's chill, eating tomato slices. Fingers crossed for healing.
