I gave no one the chop. He was a heritage true ameraucana and found someone who was interested in his genes so he is a lucky guy, he went to a home where he is wanted, at least for now.

Middle of next week i am going to sort what is left into a boy box and a girl box and see what we have.

That's great you found someone who wants him. Easier to do early in the season. By the end of summer, market is flooded.

I haven't had any takers for the marans or the SLW. I'm sure no one wants the OE. That's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

I went out and had another look at the chicks, thinking I might be able to at least identify some definite males if not dispatch any today, and they're driving me crazy. Most of them are at the stage where they could go either way and they're 5 weeks, this is ridiculous, I normally can tell by now, especially with straight comb birds. I really hope things are more clear by the middle of the week because I'd love to cut this group down, they are eating and drinking way too much!

Well yesterday I finally did it. A couple I wasn't 100000% sure about but I got rid of 6 and I'm down to 10 that I am sure are pullets. I am keeping 7 and my friend is getting the other 3 in barter so we are good to go.
