waiting for my 5th and probably final egg for the day. it's cold, and windy, another inch of snow and a big big big storm predicted for the weekend, potential for 3 feet... what's the news saying down by you MC?

got loads of housework done between yesterday and today, looks so good, now to get to the chicken room. they all need new litter, it's a wee bit stinky in there... but accessories like feed and water bowls are all cleaned. taking a bit of a break, then back to the grind, want fresh sheets on my bed tonight as well... and have many loads of clean laundry to put away.

long day tomorrow... so best to get it done today! back later

We got 6 eggs again yesterday. Seems to be the magic number. A dozen every 2 days- can't complain! Haven't collected everything yet today. 3 were sitting when I went out earlier, and I don't like to disturb them. Some girls will even leave the nest if they think treats are in the offing.

Hope everyone is doing well. Nice today, sunny and cool. Supposed to rain tomorrow. Yay!

I got 8 eggs today. Which I am really surprised. With one of my girls setting. This mean the old hens must have chipped in today. I have been getting only 5 for the last week. Not complaining!!!

One inch. Actually, less than an inch.
Now that my husband has left for work, I am finally back on here. Monday-Wednesday is very hectic! Monday he came home, and I apologized for not having the vacuuming done (HIS stupid dog was being a nut job all morning, and making my life heck). He said not to worry about it. 20 minutes later, he was done eating crackers, and began wiping all the crumbs off of his shirt, beard, and lap onto the floor. I kept teasing him, and even switched "don't worry about it" as he wiped the crumbs onto the floor, to "Darn it, woman! Don't you ever vacuum? Every week, I come home, and there is a big pile of crumbs by my seat in the living room!"
So, egg wise, I got 11 Monday, and I collected 10 Tuesday before going out around noon. This evening, I collected 13. So I assume yesterday was 11, and today was a dozen. I sold 5 dozen of the 11 dozen I had in the fridge. I am back up to 10. I need to put a sign up!
The big problem is that DH's family won't stop telling people that my eggs are $1.50/dozen. With feed going up, and paychecks going down (along with temps going down, and heating oil going up!) I really do need that $.50

Wow, we got 9 today!

Only 2 more to get that perfect day. It's bound to happen eventually. Guess I'll have to wait.

Animallover, are the birthday festivities over or are you going to have a party this weekend? Didya get any good loot?

luvmc, the longer days are sure having a positive effect on the laying. And it's not even spring yet! How old are your older girls? What breeds?

MC, you should charge $1.50 for the eggs and $1 for the carton!
