Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I want to raise them, but parents say no.
I totally understand your parents refusal to let you have meal worms in the house. Next you will be wanting to have chickens pooping in their bathtub. Somebody has to maintain a little sanity for us chicken kooks.

I won't be the one to spoil the perfect day! 6 perfect eggs... (Peach is excused)

still no chicks. and no rejection, and no smell.

OK, I will probably start a meal worm project this summer. I only need a reptile heating mat, and the wheat bran... and some floor space in a closet somewhere...

Congrats on 2 perfect days and the goose egg too! How's Roger doing after what must have been a very taxing day for her? Cheeka, if Peach's eggs don't smell, then I think you're right to leave her be. The 21 day incubation time is an average, and if the eggs are a bit cooler than optimal, there can be a delay. (You can learn a lot from hatch-a-holics!). It's been pretty cold for you, so when Peach gets off the nest to eat, the eggs might be cooling down more than normal. Keeping fingers crossed for you. When is your granddaughter visiting? It would be awesome if you could time a hatch so she could see it!

We had six eggs today, but can't eat them. Still not sure if the mob is improving.

Even though they seem mostly alright, I'm getting very impatient and worried. I even pm'd Dawg for advice. The coop is getting disgusting. Gonna need a fire hose to clean the walls.

The 2 little Serama chicks are doing well. They eat like piggies and are quite unafraid. They're so quiet too. The first morning, I jolted awake at 6 am expecting they had died because they didn't wake me up sooner, like my other noisy chicks did. A couple of real sweeties! Still haven't taken any pictures. Bad mommy!

it really is kinda fun!
I got a goose egg at work!!! It was huge!

hehe! they sure are, my biggest has been 5.8 oz so far. have just 8 more days til hatch on my first ones. They are so good to make a cake with, yum, really rich!

We laid 3 goose and 5 chicken eggs today, have a flat full of eggs already!

Yeah, its hard to tell exactly how long she's been sitting on her eggs, I've never bothered with the candling thing since all my eggs are dark green or brown and hard to see anything through, and then I wonder if all that turning is any good for them. So just like waiting for eggs, waiting for chicks.

Hi ACW, so true.. My first hatch this weekend, 2 of the eggs went full term, even pipped. Then passed away

. I feel like I should have "helped" them hatch but knowing for sure

Sometimes things are just meant to be I think, and you have to let nature intervene when they aren't strong enough to hatch and thrive.
