Looks like trouble to me.

Yes indeed! I think she said they were barred EEs, both blue/gray and the regular black barred. Doesn't look like too many of them got beards. Couple of obvious roosters there too.

When I was a kid, we had a little barred Roger with a big Polish crest on her head. She was so friendly and would sit on your shoulder. The only chicken I remember as an individual because we named her, Mary Chicken. So in 40 years I'm impressed that the BRs have managed to keep their nice temperament. Spot is by far my friendliest girl. Always tawk tawk taaaawwwkin' when I'm outside. In some extreme cases though, I think 'friendly' may have morphed into 'overbearing' ! I name no names.

Yes, first day of spring we celebrated with rain and 10 eggs! Only one short of a perfect day.

And guess who didn't lay today..... the white Leghorn. She's one of the top layers out there, but no white egg. Sheesh. So close.

hint about pictures. They are soooo cute! Is Paddy going to be spoiled, or what?

What breed of goose is s/he? and how old until you will know the sex?

Thank you

Ugh not sure, Its kinda judging by size. The ganders get much taller, but once the grown up voice comes in I will know for sure. Ganders are high pitched and goose are low toned. Paddy is horribly spoiled already

They are Chinese, i have 3 whites, Big G, Angel, and Snowy and 1 grey (WeeWee) I just sold the other 2 hens to bwindell on the Indiana thread, she had lost her goose, and her gander was pining something awful. I had way too many hens and only one gander. Really hoping Paddy is a gander

3 eggs from the dome today!

first thing this morning, most of the wee gang were roosting inside the apple coop, and most of the big gang were roosting in the front of the dome... lots of changes going on as they settle into their new order. Betty wants to rule over the Wee's so badly, she will sneak in the midst and all of a sudden, start pecking everyone. all the boys have stepped up to help keep her at bay. several of the Wee's like to sneak in amongst the Big's and see how long they can hang out before they are noticed and driven off... with several feeders and waterers, there is no competition for basic necessities. I'm so beat and sore from today, I didn't spend much time out there, and didn't bring the camera, I should have, the light was good and many were roosting, looking real perty. tomorrow... I have a short day tomorrow.

OK, I haven't forgotten the carrot. there must be beetles in there somewhere, there are so many worms now. very cool!
