Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Oh, that's true also, I am using the polyvisol for Hope, my little gosling, but its not improving much. She is at least able to eat and drink. Poor thing walks in a circle to move around, her foot is also deformed. Will take pics and see if we can compare, I think hope is a different situation tho, she is lively and active.

I just candled the remaining 12 eggs. A few air cells are too big(I think), but that should correct before hatch. The humidity is up, the egg turner is out. Now I wait.
I was able to see good veining in some EE eggs. I was lucky to see the air cell in the Marans. I vow to do better with the next batch. Better note taking, and I will candle more. Some candle too much. I don't think I candled enough!!
OK, I am hoping you wake to peeps in the morning!
I can eat my eggs again. The Wazine is out of their system. Tossing a dozen or more eggs a day was painful. At least I was able to keep the Brat's Angel's eggs.
Dog sitting is getting old. I can't wait until Odin is gone. So much t do, and two dogs in the way is making it tough!!

sending good vibes! bigger air cells have been awesome luck for me so far.

She acts as if she has to sensory/feeling in her right side. She flapped up onto the perching again (small wire rack in her kennel), and seemed to not be able to lift her right leg onto it. I checked around, no obvious breaks or abrasions.

I made a slurry of beef baby food, which worked nicely because my son won't eat it, laying crumbles, and pedialyte. So that'll be breakfast. In the morning should I add a few drops of the pedyisol vitamins, or give those seperatedly? Is that something can be over dosed? Or could I add a few drops, and give a few drops?

I also felt everyone in the coop tonight. I can palate everyone's breast bones, and although hers is thinner, it isn't the marked difference I had originally though. She is still thin though. Any other thoughts or advice?

Weakness/paralysis on one side is a common symptom of Marek's disease, which is viral and has no cure. If you can nurse her and get food/water in her she may survive. Really recommend you read up on it, though. There are other repercussions.

She's a pretty girl. Looks a lot like my EE Monkey. Tough to go through this when any of our critters get sick, but especially when it's a favorite. Let us know tomorrow.

I am giving Hope a drop a day but she is less than a pound yet. Vitamins can be overdosed, but I go with what my heart tells me. She is a beautiful hen, and very lucky she has you trying to help her. Send a message to dawg53 also he is sure smart on health issues. All of my birds but the original 6 were treated for mereks, I plan to start doing all my hatchlings too. its scary stuff.
Good luck to you and your baby!

OK hoping for good news this morning from ROGER, from those of us that never sleep

Thanks. Going out to check on them when it gets daylight. I sleep but I "go to bed with the chickens". And with Roger I never needed a rooster to wake me in the morning. She did the job fine. Really is odd having her broody. Everything is so normal. Totally different having a normal flock of birds. She is predictable now. Sitting with dedication on her eggs. Waiting for the day when she can release her army of brainwashed monsters on me and the rest of the flock to make up for lost time. Their only hope is they lack any BR genes. Don't tell her.

Thanks, Cheeka! <3
He has started getting the lacing on his chest in the last few days (he looks like he's wearing a spiffy vest...but he's shy/ornery and I barely got that pic of him today!) Also, he's been getting his golden mane-skinny feathers. Road Runner is gorgeous, too. He is colored like a SS, but with slate legs....so I am not sure what he is. I will see if I can get a better view of him.

I have 21 (9 SLW, 4 EE/Ameraucana, 3 NN, 1 BO, 1 SS, 1 white EE, 2 GLW (I think) ) pullets that are all the same age as Fran and RR. Getting hefty and fluffy...but very little red in their faces, and still as flighty as 13 year old girls. Told them it was time to get in gear. We have a big graduation coming up and expect 15 extra people to feed....We already go through about 4 doz eggs a week...can't wait to get away from store boughts!!!

OK, give Roger a high-five from me...her life is totally about to change, I think she has it in the bag!
Thanks for the encouragement. I hope your right. But lets not kid ourselves. She is a BR = (Bad & Rotten)

If anyone has time, I've posted a sick chicken question over in the Texas thread. Should be able to see it in my history. Can y'all take a look and give some advice if you have it? I would copy and paste, but am using my phone. Thanks in advance.
Hope she makes it. Sounds like everybody here has lots of good ideas. They are my "go too gals" and I can count on them always.

Nothing new this morning. Roger got off the nest to eat and drink. Checked all four of her eggs. I cannot tell anything different. No holes, cracks or peeps that I could see or hear. I removed the new eggs added by the other birds (two of them). Holding a light to the eggs its easy to tell them apart. The new eggs are clear inside and the hatching eggs are totally dark. Big BO broody didn't budge so I assume her situation is the same. We had some pretty cool weather during the 21 day period so I suppose they could be late bloomers. Below freezing a few times. In fact its in the 50's here this morning and pouring rain. I wouldn't be in no hurry to break out into that either if I was in a shell tucked under momma. The wait continues. Time will tell
