Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Nothing new this morning. Roger got off the nest to eat and drink. Checked all four of her eggs. I cannot tell anything different. No holes, cracks or peeps that I could see or hear. I removed the new eggs added by the other birds (two of them). Holding a light to the eggs its easy to tell them apart. The new eggs are clear inside and the hatching eggs are totally dark. Big BO broody didn't budge so I assume her situation is the same. We had some pretty cool weather during the 21 day period so I suppose they could be late bloomers. Below freezing a few times. In fact its in the 50's here this morning and pouring rain. I wouldn't be in no hurry to break out into that either if I was in a shell tucked under momma. The wait continues. Time will tell

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I'm doing what I can. She made it overnight. and gave a few pecks at dry crumble when I put it under her nose.

Doctor Abi wants to know if she (the bird, not Dr. Abi!!!!) is egg bound? It can't always be felt. Try a warm bath. If she is in pain, it should help whatever it is.

Is anybody worried yet about Rogers eggs? It was 21 days exactly Friday night. Today is Sunday. Tonight around 8 PM it will be 23 complete days. Heaven help us all if this is not a success. She will be unbearable and impossible to deal with. I'm getting a little nervous. There is not enough PIE if this mommy thing does not work out.

it took 24 days for Peach to hatch eggs, but she had a slow start, took her a few days to really sit ON the eggs, rather than NEXT to them... but you mentioned the cold weather. that will slow things down. don't worry... as long as they are still sitting on them, it's likely the eggs/chicks are fine.

I'll worry either way. It's just a matter of how many MONSTERS I will have to deal with. Won't mention witch broody i'm talking about.

If they make it till Christmas I will be ready to send them all to the North Pole. Might even give them a ride.......no......I will mail them. If you get a package marked " MONSTERS INSIDE"....it will be Roger and her corrupted offspring. Drop it and run. The package won't be insured and there will be no return address.
