THREE........Today we laid THREE!

the cream color egg in the center is the not the "shell-less" layers egg. although, it's exactly the same size and sorta funky shape. the point of the egg has swirls in it, like it just knitted itself together in time for laying, however, there was a shell-less egg in the nest box early this morning. now for the facts as I know them: I have 4 laying. there were no more eggs as of 1:45 this afternoon, i called home from the route and waited for my BH to go and check. I got home at 4:15, and there were 3 eggs in the nest. the brown was cold, the green was warm, and the cream was very very warm, as in freshly laid warm. when I first saw it, I thought it looked like it was going to be soft, but it's not... I believe... that Wilma is the shell-less egg layer. Rose lays the brown egg, Blu lays the green egg, and Betty laid the cream.
When I first got them, I had read that BR's lay cream color eggs, then read here that they are considered brown egg layers... and saw pictures of nice light brown eggs... I could be wrong, it could be Betty laying the shell-less, but I don't think so...I will have to watch to see how much oyster shell the BR's are eating. next week, I only have one long day, so seeing as how they are afternoon layers, I should be able to watch.
so I've gotten a total of 6 eggs and 3 shell-less since 9/26!

Out of those three eggs I would bet that the cream color egg in the middle came from a BR. Thats the color my BR's lay. I was surprised by how light colored the eggs from the BR's were when mine started laying. You might have a couple different ones laying shell-less eggs. They will get it all worked out. Congratulations on ......THREE

I have great faith in my gang, they are very healthy beautiful chickens, and growing up just fine, as you said, they'll get it worked out! I'm really happy that the cream colored eggs are part of my pallet, that's why I picked them in pairs from the big box o' chicks... then I thought I was kinda wrong and would get more brown eggs... which really didn't matter, but it's cool to have more variety... I'm still waiting on the other EE to see what color she will lay, and of course the bantam...

I haven't, I'll have to look in the morning. or go through photos and zoom in...

my memory tells me that the BR's have bright red earlobes, and the RIR's have lighter ones... yellowish... i don't know, now it's gonna bug me, lol

My chickens don't have ears. what the hell?....

One of them has a mouth so big I can see the egg before she lays it.

Wilma talks a lot too, and if she thinks I'm not getting the message quickly enough, she just squaks louder... the rest are kinda quiet, 'cept for the roos of course... they perp a lot and have a crowing chorus with the 3rd neighbors roos. I can hear them crowing in the distance, it's hilarious, they take turns.
