Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

today, I got one brown, and one green! I was very careful and didn't drop either one of them. i put together my first perfect half dozen to give away to my fiance's Mom ~ he has said more than once... "if there is a chick in one of those..."

Well, it is taking them forever to figure out what "normal" treats like canned peaches are! I don't know HOW they would react to a pie!

introduce it in bits... start off with a "Peach Pie"... sprinkle some seeds on... maybe a little yogurt... they'll get the idea

Hey guys! So I got 5 new hens. My friend got them around Easter this year. They are 5 golden Comet hens. I don't know if they are laying yet, though.

Thats five more big brown eggs everyday. My Comets hardly ever miss a day. Roger would give anything to be a GOLDEN COMET or lay brown eggs like them so she could lie about it.

Somebody is going to explode from a pumpkin overdose. They are so full they look like a bunch of little Humpty Dumpty's. Pumpkin PIE.....its whats for dinner. (pics later)

NICE! my gang loved the pumpkin... i have to stock up on pumpkin so they can have some throughout the winter!

MC... I just made a HUGE brunch, with pancakes with our eggs ~ it was a double yolker! and bacon and a whole bunch of fried eggs, over easy... I'm stuffed or I would want peach pie too!

THREE.......... Today we laid THREE!

We went for a ride this afternoon, and just got back ~ decided to peek to see if there were any afternoon eggs and Yee Haa! there was a perfect cream colored egg! so... one of each, brown, green and cream!

Mmmmmmm......... bacon. Tomorrow Sunday brunch! An excellent excuse for having bacon. Better go raid the freezer.

I like the cream colored eggs. Very pretty and I wasn't really expecting any from my "brown" layers, but the BO and the BA both lay them. Well, not the BA so much. Miss Broody-Britches hasn't laid any more after the sad little ping-pong ball from the other day.

Once they figure it out, they mob you every time you get close!! I was holding a small dish with some blueberries and brown rice, trying to get the mob to back off a bit. Next thing I know, my sweet, timid Gold Sex Link flies up and lands on my arm, spilling most of the goodies in one big pile. The top 3 girls promptly laid claim to the entire lot. Had to scrape it up off the ground to spread some out for the lower ranking girls.

Chickens will do anything for food. Yours just don't know yet. It only takes one brave soul to try something, and they will all turn into little hogs. Such copy-cats!
