Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Sorry if anybody is getting unwanted links or whatever it is they are getting. Certainly not anything intentional by us. If somebody can explain what is going on or have a explanation on how to stop it I will do my best to fix the problem if I can. I cannot open the link either so I didn't know what it was till I saw you guys talking about it. Thanks for any help.
It is Roger's picture that is in the link. No worries. I did not get one but I could open it on the thread.

Two eggs yesterday and one today. Rain... then sun. Happy chickens, but we are in the upper 40s and beginning to flood with all of the snow melting.

Thanks for the recipe Cheeka!

W4W-I think you are right about the chick being an Ancona. I looked at lots of baby pictures of that breed, and that is what my one remaining one looks like. With my luck, the one that survived is a male! I could see, (kinda), how the adult Ancona could be mistaken for a BR. Dark with white in a somewhat random pattern kind of way. I guess if you don't have any, anyways.
Scary how people can come off sounding so knowledgeable, yet be so wrong. I should have known when she was talking how she is raising pure bred, heritage birds, like Ameraucana's and she shows us an EE. Don't get me wrong, I love EE's, but don't tell me it is an Ameraucana. I think that is why so many newbies like myself get so confused with breeds.

We just need to come here instead

I am trying to be brave enough to leave the chicken brooder outside tonight. We have a warm spell (sorry, those of you with snow) of 60 + high and lows about 40. I have had it outside in the low 50's and they seem fine. It's outside now, and they seem fine, but it's scarey because there are only the two of them to snuggle together. They are covered in feathers. Intellectually, I think they are fine, but then I worry.

I don't think that it was actually sent to anyone. I think he just copied and pasted the link to the picture... Not 100% though...

How old are they??? They were New Years babies weren't they??? I put my babies out at 5 weeks in NJ dec where it was 30 degrees. I did use a heat lamp for a couple of weeks to slowly acclimate them but they were fine! I know you'll still worry....but they are tougher than they seem. Make sure they have plenty of food, water and snugly bedding ;)

Are you coming to NC all the way from NJ to pick up a puppy?!?

They are 6 weeks now. I * think* they will be fine, and I am very anxious for them to be OUTSIDE chickens. We'll see how strong I am. I tried a few days ago, then chickened out around midnight and brought it back in.

Is there a place in the house like a garage where you can keep them so they can get acclimated? At 6 weeks they'll be fine outside if they are use to it and not going from an 80 degree house to 40 outside. I think it's the change in temp difference that stresses them more vs what the actual temps are so if you can minimize the change they'll be better off...
