Oooooo, roosting squabbles make me mad too. Some take it too far. My white Leghorn, the top dog, was standing on a lower perch, where she never sleeps, whacking the lowliest pullet on the head over and over. I must have watched for close to a minute, and she never stopped. Whack! Whack! Whack!. Couldn't stand it and pulled her off the roost and threw her in the run. It was getting dark so she went back in and found her place on the upper roost and settled down. She's also been a bully in the yard, chasing lower pullets down and pecking them long after they'd given way. She even mounts the BO to show dominance.
Well, after that little show of unnecessary violence, she went to reeducation camp. Solitary confinement for a week.
Bad Biscuit

Happy to say, it worked. Pecking order readjusted in her absence, and Biscuit is much calmer now that she's back with the mob.
Oh, and guess who took over as queen of the coop.
Was there any doubt?

Spot is definitely dominant, but without the brutality.
