I hate to give up the info, which is usually kept confidential, but Roger did fail the tryouts held earlier this year. She was given extensive material on flying and diet, with an exercise DVD to practice with. She is invited to tryout again next year as we feel her bright comb adds a distinct advantage. Perhaps this knowledge will help you to coach her in her efforts, and bring her down off the roof. No worries, Santa's team is in place and ready to go. They all wish Roger the best and look forward to seeing her again.

Well here’s a Roger Christmas song I’ve been working on for a while.

Roger, the red combed chicken,
Had a kind-of shiny comb,
But if you ever saw it,
You probably wouldn’t say it glows,
OK the chickens’ owner used to laugh at Roger’s name,
Anytime something happened, she would always get the blame.
Then one clucky brand new day OK came to say,
Roger with your list so tall, I don’t think we can get it all.
Then all the chickens were sad, they wanted a 5 star coop,
But OK said no way, you’ll just fill it up with poop!

OK if she gets you a cook book, she should get a "NOOK" in addition to her cell phone, then she can read alllllllllllll night.

I think the problem is solved. When their big butts knocked the roost down a week or so ago, there was a screw I could not get out. I think someone- or several someones- was cutting their comb open on the screw.

MC so glad you found the problem, that's scary to see so much blood.
The old shed i converted to the main coop was full of nail points sticking through! I went crazy with bolt cutters and snipped them off. Who uses a 16 penny nail thru an inch of wood, anyways?!? A piece of wire mesh was sticking thru the concrete and i had stepped on it.

Grrrr i was so upset! Its old, but the workmanship was very poor. oh well.
ETA.. maybe that's all they had. I have to second guess sometimes and think what i am saying... Ugh. I am no better i use what i got.

I am so freaked out on what may be a problem i need to whitewash again and look at it all.
