Why jump 50¢ ? Go up a quarter, and charge for the cartons or offer an option of bring your own, the people who swear you won't get more? Are those your steady customers? Yeah, I'd tell you that too. Everyone know the cost of feed went up. I don't wash eggs, they stay fresher longer without. At your prices they can wash their own. I really wouldn't apologize for the price of my eggs, take it or leave it. If you cater to cheapskates that will ever be your client base. Just starting you'll be lucky to break even...it takes time. I feed fermented whole corn in the winter for energy, its mostly sugar but metabolizes to heat...I know this is a long standing argument, but I've studied my Krebs cycle and guess what. I also feed whole oats and barley, dog food for protein and layer mash/ dry just as breakfast cereal. They still free range and eat anything green or moves. I planted winter wheat and rye for greens...hope it is growing now. I don't plan to sell eggs, even to defray costs, I either eat them or give them away or supplement the dogs for the food I stole from them.
