I can't even remember... 3 eggs? today seems like a whole week. yeah, 3 eggs. Peach was nesting at dusk, but she never sang, so I didn't go in and disturb her.
this morning, not even halfway to work, my boss calls me and tells me that 'so and so' is sick, and now I have to do her route instead of my own... and sorry... but you've got to hustle, cuz you'll already be 45 minutes late... (my start time is 45 minutes past hers...) Criminy. Gimme a dang break. She's taking tomorrow off too, honestly, I spend more time doing her route than she does. I haven't stopped in to see my octogenarian friend for 2 weeks, I'm either not on my route, or I'm rushing bc I have to do a route somewhere else after my own... I feel badly, wanted to stop yesterday, but I had a route inspection, and the PM was riding with me, checking every detail of my route, so I couldn't deviate. I've called, but it's just not the same... company is so much better. I don't see well in the dark, and definitely have difficulty driving in the dark, I don't stay out past work...
So, the one day I've been looking forward to for a week... tomorrow. 50+ degrees, sunny... when I should be home by 2ish, I will be stuck at work, til dusk. It's raining hard now, we are supposed to get as much as 2 inches of rain over night. that, plus the sunny day tomorrow, should melt almost all of the snow. Frankly, I don't believe that 'so and so' is sick. I think she's playing hooky. I need cocoa... I'm way too grumpy...

Same here!! You really need a break. You remind me a bit of our mail carrier. She goes above and beyond. Literally, If she forgets a package, she will get in her car and drive it to you. I've also known her to walk out into my neighbors yard a few doors down. Said neighbor has 2 big dogs that ATTACKED 2 of my dogs once. I made cookies for her for Christmas, and I've baked other stuff for her a lot.
It's not usually that hot, but it's in the 100s the majority of the summer. At band camp, we don't get to have to not be outside unless it's 115 I think. Maybe it's 110.

70 here today. Will be 13 sometime on Thursday. Strong storms rolling in here tonight. School on delayed schedule in the morning due to storms. All of my girls are safe in the bathroom perched on the shower curtain rod and pooping in the bathtub. They take these storms serious.
Lucky Birds! Mom and Dad won't let me do that, even with 70 mph winds
