Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

11 eggs so far today. Some may be from last night. Either way, I am happy.
Cadbury actually pooped on me!

She has stepped in poop before flying to me, but I have never been pooped on before. Without a washer, I will have to wash the coat in the tub. Joy.
and today. Big switch from yesterday.

Hang on in that wind MC! Hey, maybe your DH will buy you a new washer for his birthday.

Wouldn't that be lovely?

Animallover, having a b-day near the SuperBowl is like having one around Christmas. Bummer. Everyone gets festivity overload. We'll be watching the game, though. It's the 49ers! My hubby's brother is actually going to the game with his wife and adult son. Going to spend a packet! Personally, I'd rather be comfortably at home instead of getting my ears blasted out in the stadium in uncomfortable seats watching miniscule players waaaay down there on the field and paying exorbitant prices for food and drinks. And I can switch to the Puppy Bowl if the action gets slow. And yes, I have always been an old fuddy-duddy!

Is your chicken still eating? Nice full crop?

Cheeka, sounds like it's time to batten down the hatches, or the coops. Is Peach going to continue to stay inside with you? Si must be lonely.

Do you work at a zoo then? What do you do? Sounds interesting, whatever it is! (Just ignore if I am too nosy!)

Eggs that are hanging around for a few days should still be good if it hasn't been too hot. The natural bloom on the shell has protective properties unless it gets washed off. So maybe not good after it rains if they're outside. I leave eggs out on my counter for 3 or 4 days and have never had a problem. I would feed the eggs in your pic to my dogs without hesitation. Unless one was really stinky when you cracked it open!

My dopey dogs would probably eat it anyway. Or roll in in.

X2

Isn't there a way to tell if an egg is going bad, other than the old reliable sniff-a-roo test? Thought I read something somewhere..... floating vs sinking???.... requires a bit of research.
yeah, if it floats, it's old.

fairly full, yeah And she was in the nest box! She didn't lay, but she wouldn't go near it while she was sick

I work at a small exotic animal park. Aka...a zoo. Lol. I would have no problems feeding them, but rather safe than sorry kinda deal. We have such wonky weather in texas. Last night it was below freezing, and today's high was 85 *eye roll*.

So we just collect what we know is fresh. Although I am sure I miss a bunch because we always have a clutch or two running around. Lmao!

I will remember the float test. When you sniff the duck eggs they smell bad. Yuck.

6 for me today too.

And they're all really nice and large. I washed the big dog today. She needed it sooooo bad. Really put my wonky back to the test, but I think I'll be fine for tomorrow's big event- parent chaperone on an all day field trip to the Egyptian museum in San Jose. I've never been there, but a 2.5 hour bus ride (one way!) with a bunch of screaming 6th graders is a steep price to pay. If I don't log on tomorrow, you'll know what happened.

Showbarnmom, what's the most exotic animal at the exotic animal park? Do you work with all the animals or just a few? What's your fave? Got any road runner eggs in that dish? I've never heard of anyone on BYC hatching road runner eggs. You could be the first! I'll stop now.
