my personal favorite is the lavender scent... so soothing yet fresh. 14 eggs over here again today, and so much accomplished it's scary! got the burn pile finished completely, and the garage door is fixed - no more gaping holes... basically the outside stuff is done and now it's time to work on the inside of the house! taking up almost all of the carpet and putting in laminate wood flooring throughout. the kitchen needs finishing, it's been primed sheet rock for years and the cabinets are also in need of painting, trim for the ceiling... I had gutters installed almost a month ago - so nice! I can't hear it raining most times... as it's not pouring off the roof down the walls and windows anymore...
Mylee had her first ever Smore

this is Coral. all afternoon she kept going to the tall grass you see in the distance trying to make a nest. she has a very distinctive call, she sounds like a machine gun. silly girl. but seriously, with Violet brooding, she is taking up the favorite corner, and she's scooped up all the bedding on to her side... I have another hen that is laying in the grass just outside the dome so now i have to check that area carefully after free range... I don't want hidden nests way off in the distance over there... I must have walked her back a dozen times. and I put in more hay because Violet is a hog. She primarily steals blue eggs, which makes it very easy.
we're getting rain here, and it's not looking good. downtown is getting sand bagged as I type... another big storm is on it's way. I'm safe up on the hill. even with Irene... I had no damage at all. but I have friends in the valley...
