Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

my personal favorite is the lavender scent... so soothing yet fresh. 14 eggs over here again today, and so much accomplished it's scary! got the burn pile finished completely, and the garage door is fixed - no more gaping holes... basically the outside stuff is done and now it's time to work on the inside of the house! taking up almost all of the carpet and putting in laminate wood flooring throughout. the kitchen needs finishing, it's been primed sheet rock for years and the cabinets are also in need of painting, trim for the ceiling... I had gutters installed almost a month ago - so nice! I can't hear it raining most times... as it's not pouring off the roof down the walls and windows anymore...
Mylee had her first ever Smore

this is Coral. all afternoon she kept going to the tall grass you see in the distance trying to make a nest. she has a very distinctive call, she sounds like a machine gun. silly girl. but seriously, with Violet brooding, she is taking up the favorite corner, and she's scooped up all the bedding on to her side... I have another hen that is laying in the grass just outside the dome so now i have to check that area carefully after free range... I don't want hidden nests way off in the distance over there... I must have walked her back a dozen times. and I put in more hay because Violet is a hog. She primarily steals blue eggs, which makes it very easy.
we're getting rain here, and it's not looking good. downtown is getting sand bagged as I type... another big storm is on it's way. I'm safe up on the hill. even with Irene... I had no damage at all. but I have friends in the valley...

Sounds like everyone is having completely different weather. We are getting a bad storm and one wave has passed. I was tempted to go check on the chickens but my husband keeps reminding me how much longer I have to my birthday so I stayed in. We caught a movie tonight and went through a drive through (how romantic right

) lol but I love the little things in life, and with two kids that was a great night. I ordered myself some eggs for my birthday. The silkie I was going to buy, got purchased before I could get there. So now "Lonely" is still alone.

Your EE looks like the one I just lost Peach, but crackle had tufts and pop didn't. So as for egg count...I am only getting one egg everyday from the girls who had been sick. Anyone know when they might start laying again. I am worried that they might not ever start laying again....if that happens I am going to have some rough decisions. I already know I have one adoptee that wont be laying again...to add seven more to that list will be bad.

Well I hope everyone makes it through the wacky weather.

We need some rain. Had a nice bout over the last 30 days, but if we don't get more, atleast a nice storm every 3 weeks or so, we won't have any hay crops. Texas is bad up when it comes to needing rain.

We have more than six inches above normal precipitation here ...just this month. It just feels like the weather gets crazier and crazier.

Happy birthday to you, I use rainchecks on mine and cash em in when I find the one thing I really want. (Still waiting for a camera tho!)

we got some rain overnight, I missed one window, and got some water on the stuff in front of the open window, but no damage, we're getting a break this morning, supposed to rain again this afternoon and tonight. my county hasn't had too much flooding overnight... but 2 surrounding counties did... we'll have to wait it out...

off to work!
