Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I've not thought about the importance of that first room from the side door... I've got a front door, and a back door... but most often use the side door to the mud room that leads into the kitchen. I always thought it was "small". Until I redid the floor, that is. it's 55 square feet in there!

Still no eggs. The pie didn't work. Maybe tomorrow ;)

Cheeka - hope you get a nibble on the house! Selling our last house was the most stressful thing! It was 25 or so degrees here today. Old Man Winter doesn't want to leave! It's better than -50 though I suppose which is what we were getting a couple of weeks ago!

Lindz - that looks like the group of eggs I had! Except you have a lot more lol. Good luck!
That is 2 days worth of eggs from my girls PLUS the friend I am borrowing the bator from sent me a dozen of hers for FREE too! 33 eggs total. I will candle in a week and get rid of any obvious clears or duds....

I love my mud room... Thats where Zauk stays because he sheds horribly, and slings slobber everywhere! We've been here only 13 months and already need to repaint that room!

Work is starting on the coop soon! I made a preliminary shopping list and I have my plans drawn up (kinda, I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl). This was the closest I could find to what I want to do so I am basing my plans loosely on this.

Couple of changes...more ventilation, a different location and style of clean out door, different positioning of the nest box, different arrangement of the roost.

But the overall shape and size of the box will be similar lol.

Its gonna be a nic

e coop Mortie.

This is what I found this morning. I hope that I don't have an egg eater. This is the second one in a week. Rumples spends a lot of time on the nest all flattened out. This morning when I checked on her, she made a strange noise. Is was between a growl and a purr. I am not sure what I am going to do about the addition of chickens right now.

... Violet, the RIR I lost last July right after she sat for 3 weeks and none hatched... would growl at me, I took a video, I'll have to dig the link from my youtube account. decision time for you - you have to give her eggs or break her. she's serious. Peach growled in the beginning, but once I realized... and left her to brood, she was always proud to plump up for me...

My Realtor called - they loved the house, the land, the fact that a bit more land adjacent to mine is for sale... fingers crossed ~ technically, the house is higher priced than they were considering, but after viewing properties at the price they wanted, they realized none of those met their needs. We'll see...

can't expect the first looker to jump on it, but you never know. historically, this house has always sold quickly...
