right now the peeps are in the living room,

MC, I saw that yesterday! I am really looking forward to the next time I have to peel a bunch of apples!

I have 16 Eggs so far, but I broke 2. it was quite nice earlier, had the flock out for a bit, Royce was being "odd", so I made sure I behaved in a more dominant way. it was going great, but then he sneaked up on me... kicked me from behind, got me only once when I turned around... and I whooped him all over the yard. he put a hole in my pants! I only have one pair left now that has no holes. then checking the long johns that I'm still wearing... no hole through those, but a blood spot was forming. little stinker! I still haven't looked to see the wound, it's nothing... but I can still feel it 2 hours later. I best go clean it out. I'll do my final egg check at 6.

No eggs today.

I took the light away form the peepers. I have read many people say that 5 degrees a week is a little bit silly for acclimating chicks and they are going to need to go in the garage here shortly and I was having trouble getting the light high enough to get their box below 80. I had it like 4.5 feet from the ground and we weren't going to be getting anywhere with acclimation so I just took it away. They are fine without it. The corner of the box they sleep in is about 70. They didn't peep in protest or anything. When they go in the garage, they'll get the light back. It's not even hitting the 40's right now during the day and at night it's going into the 20's. I feel like they will be better prepared now. They'll be cozy in the warm area in there with a place they can go to experience cold if that's what floats their little feathery boats.

To cold to work on the coop. And it snowed. I'm over this.

Two eggs so far today... but, I think that Penny laid one in Rumples' nest yesterday. Rumples is out enjoying some sun, food and drink. Her eggs are real warm, so she must have just left. And.. she has not laid an egg today. She is serious!! I am going to gently move her Thursday night and candle some eggs.
