One of the hens tried to hurt Rumples. She has a gash on her head the size of a quarter. I will put neo on it in the morning. My bad... I left the gate to her pen open. I didn't think that she would walk out, because she hasn't been walking at all. She had left her pen and was in the main pen between the feeder and waterer. I feel horrible.......................

Poor rumples.... I hope she is ok and heals quickly! Between her and Wilson they are my favorites to read about.

So one reason we got chickens and ducks is to eat more healthy. Eggs are a huge staple in our house for breakfast and sometimes supper. We will butcher at least 1 calf this year maybe 2, and do the hog thing as well. Now we are starting on bread! We have a bread machine and I was wondering if anyone else is using one to make "better for you" bread if there is such a thing.
400

That is our first 2 pound loaf. It lasted less the 30 minutes.

I ued to hate fresh bread. Then one sister gave me her machine and a recipe. Now I love it! I used to make a loaf a day when I had Dh's aunt. Three people could polish it off in 24 hours.

I used to make all of our bread products from recipes from the book called artisan bread in under 5 minutes a day. I made bread, hot dog buns, etc...everything. no need for a machine and not time consuming at all. Loved it.
