I only got seven eggs today. Maybe the hens heard about Robin Williams, and were too sad to lay anymore.
The turkey jenny that Is always so curious about what I'm doing was biting me tonight!!
I have got to do something about that! I am processing the BBW soon. I may do her too!

ahhh I think I have 3 roosters. Heard a little guy crowing this morning (I hope I can record it cause it's super cute at the moment).

Tho I'm happy 'cause he's a frizzle polish. If I can manage to keep one, I'd like to keep the frizzle so I can frizzle any others I might want to hatch.

No idea what I'm going to do with the other 2. I'm not sure I can eat them but I'm so nervous to post them on CL because of all the nefarious people there. I think I'll try posting here and see if anyone bites.

so i woke up to go to the coop ad i opened the nesting boxes and guess what i found.... An egg... SHELL! She laid yesterday at 1:00PM and i guess she laid VERY EARLY TODAY and the egg got stepped on or something... what do you think happend? Maybe was it another hen that laid and her shell was soft then cracked open? UGH an egg down the drain :/

I wrote a post for mc which seems to have been eaten...either that or the mobile site is playing tricks on me! Hi again mc! So glad you checked in! Do you have enough freezer space for all those turkeys?

Who ordered the el nino? It hasn't rained here for like2weeks and now it has been raining for 12 hours strzight. We are getting a whole month of rain all at once!

Where's val I wonder? Probably swamped with all the eggs she is getting now...

Oh pm sorry about the egg. I know exactly how frustrated you must be.you wait and wait and wait for them to lay then you get ONE laying and every egg is a treasure! To lose one is a waste of a whole day and it's depressing. Don't worry. Soon you will have more eggs than you know what to do with!

Good News! I have my Other RIR squatting for me now

One egg so far today. It was at Penny's usual time but not in her usual box and a smidge darker than usual for her. I am assuming it was hers since Wil laid so late in the day yesterday but who even knows with these birdies.

Help me decide. Should I collect the eggs and give what will amount to a very small number to my folks when we go on vacation, or enjoy the long awaited fruits of my labors myself??

My mom is caring for my chickens in a couple of weeks while we are going to NY for 5 days. I told her she can take home any eggs she finds!
