Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I went out this morning and collected Penny's egg. Wilson had been in the nest right before and I saw her hop out from the house so I figured she'd laid too so I was going to have a 2 egg find. Nope, Wilson wasn't done yet. I set penny's egg on the deck railing and settled in my chair and watched for a while. After about 20 minutes Wilson laid her egg and hopped down and I collected it, still blazing hot.

Instead of grabbing penny's egg before going up the couple stairs onto the deck, I decided to leave it on the railing and get up on the deck then grab it. My deck is a piece of crap so when I went up the stairs, it must have moved it a bit and the stupid. thing. ROLLED. OFF. And smashed. I am SO ANGRY I could spit! I knew better.

This sucks because we had decided to bring some eggs with us to share with my family. Plus, I mean, Penny worked hard on that egg. ARGH I am so annoyed.

is it SO Dang annoying? Remember my egg? i didn't let my chickens in the run early enough so my chicken laid and it got stepped on and crushed

But today i let them out as early as possible And she laid early! Without getting it crushed Egg weighed 1.531 Ounces.... Still small :/

Well to quote PM from an earlier post "maybe someone more responsible should be collecting the eggs"!!! Lol sorry couldn't resist! I remember breaking my first egg!!!!! Sucks! I mean why make them so fragile when they're in a "ball" shape just begging to roll!!!!

My middle daughter took the egg basket out to get ours this morning.... My wife calls to say.... One of the chickens tried to fly the coop.... Harley grabbed the chicken and .... Knocked the dang bucket over! Yesterday's eggs and today's eggs ...... Gone! 19 eggs! So I am feeling everyone's pain at the moment , plus I'm having another craptastic day at work.

I am sorry everyone is having such a rough day! Mine isn't perfect either, but it certainly isn't as bad as you guys seem to be having it!
