Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Awwweeee what cute puppies Lindz and MC!!!

Got my eggs in the mail and have the incubators all set up. Let's she if I can go for a perfect 16 this time (tho I prob just jinx'd myself).

On another note, I sold my first dozen eggs to strangers who saw my sign in the driveway!!!! Yay me!!! Thankfully I was home. Gotta figure out a way to keep them outside when I'm not home...

Thankfully I had a dozen... I just sold 5 doz to neighbors and family. I actually only had 10 but my good girls had 2 more in the nest box for me ;) this dude got extremely fresh eggs!!!

I blew out our first blue egg to keep it and it had some blood spots in it. First one we've had with them in it. Hopefully the other blue eggs are okay because I gave a lot of them to my neighbor.

I have 43 hens and I always freeze some eggs I but 2 eggs in mxer with 2 tbs milk mix and put in freezer bags have had them in for up to 5 mths, now my daughter just told me she froze them and when she opened the bag to fry them they were not good. but I have done it this way for 5 yrs. I only put 2 eggs because it is just myself and dh. I have never tried to freeze them not mixed.

I freeze eggs using the red lid Tupperware jugs. The kind that comes in pint and quart sizes with the pop open pour hole in the top. I believe they come in 1 cup sizes too. The eggs freeze very well in the jugs, no freezer burn at all. I use them just like you would a carton of egg-beaters.

I put the eggs in the mixer without milk. Because i am allergic to milk and some recipes don't require milk. Also i can always add milk later if i am cooking for someone else.

When i need eggs i take a jug out and put it in the fridge to thaw a couple days before. The the thawing eggs will last quite a while in the fridge as the eggs will take a few days to competently thaw. So I can pour off a couple eggs worth and still have a block of frozen egg in the center that helps extend the eggs useful life for longer than you would expect.

1/4 cup egg = one large egg.

I also freeze just whites or just yolks for baking during the holidays.
Large yolks are about 1 1/2 tablespoons.
A large white is 3 tablespoons but i just round up to 1/4 cup for quick measuring.

I went 50/50 with the layers. Jemma is considering gifting me with an egg, but Little Bit and Minnie Pearl could give a poop about the whole thing. Nugget's eggs are on the small side. Todays egg was 50 grams, so it is 1 gram larger than the last. She is 3 for 3 right now.

10 today from the reds!

1 from the ducks!

0 from the silkies (blah)
C Lindz did you buy your bator or build it? My DD is wanting to hatch some duck eggs and I don't know whether I want to buy or build.
