Broken eggs, thin shells and "rubber" eggs are common for new egg layers. Their system just needs a little time to get the kinks out. It is also common after a molt. Check out the abnormal egg thread. BTW.... your pullets have oyster shell to eat yes?I have 3 girls laying woohoo and they are awesome they haven't missed a day 6,4,and 2 days.
I have a question. Their was a broken egg in nest yesterday I think my new layer might have laid 2 but 1 broke today in the nest box the fresh laid egg had a smear of yolk on. My chicken is acting normal and like I said laid an egg. Is this ok or is their something I should do
ETA forgot I got my first egg crate filled a whole dozen brown beautiful eggs
Question when hens stop laying so lighting or molting and begin laying again is there egg usually small like a pullet egg? That's what just happened to me but I can't tell if it's one of the younger pullets first egg
