Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Well normally here it wouldn't rain AND be cold on the same day. Normally it would be warm when it rains and snow when it's cold.

They seem ok. I dunno. There isn't much I can do really so I'm hoping for the best.

I just went out to see how they are. Someone had just laid an egg hours after it got dark lol. She even felt her way into the nest. I could tell because she was still not on the roost and the egg was warm.

They're still damp but it's not super cold out, holding steady a little above 30. I felt their bodies and they seem warm and dry in spite of their backs still being wet. Darn birds.

Right!

Blows the myth that they only lay eggs in the morning.

They just need a place to dry off at night. Rain does not hurt them, or getting wet that is.

I know getting wet doesn't hurt them. I'm not sure if you read my previous post, it's also quite chilly here. The last couple weeks have been below zero but today it was in the 30's. Tonight it'll be in the low 20's or teens.. The cold and them being wet was more what I was concerned about. I know they can handle cold and I know they can handle wet, just not sure if they can do the two together.

They will be fine at those temperatures as long as they have a dry place to go at night. They keep warm in the day by moving around but if they stay wet at night then they can get hypothermia.

I used to worry about them on rainy days and would not let them out of their coops. I do not worry anymore.

I don't worry about them on rainy days. Or on cold days. It's quite unusual to be both rainy and below freezing though so I was just asking.

They are all fine and dandy today, though since it snowed again they're trying to avoid touching the ground if at all possible.
