Oh Oh.... I have an uneasy feeling that Rumples might be going broody. She did lay an egg today, but I have not seen her off the nest today. She usually runs (hobbles) out to great me, but today she stayed on the nest clucking. When I threw her some treats... she ate what she could reach from her spot and she looks a little puffed.

On the news yesterday... they said that we had a phenomenon here called "dirty rain". They aren't sure what caused it, but it is possible that there was some volcanic ash in the rain. It has made everything kinda cruddy looking.

I have to laugh right now.... there is a child screaming intermittently which is making the turkeys reply with a gobble.

I was wondering what that was! I texted my husband about the milky rain, but neither of us watched the news last night. I missed saying Happy birthday to you, so I'll wish you a happy birth week. I decided to spoil my chickens today and let them out in the garden. It makes me smile when they get all frisky and start hopping and flapping, like giddy little schoolgirls.

That's funny about the turkey. One day I was working at our agency office and I kept hearing a really weird resounding noise. Similar to a chirp, but it was so loud that I could FEEL it. I went outside and a turkey was about 20 feet up in a pine tree right outside our office door. Her flock was just across the street and the tom was calling to her very loudly, telling her to get down. I don't know if she thought she was stuck, because she sounded pretty distressed. I didn't see the end, but she must have eventually hopped and flapped her way down.
