She occasionally spends the night in her crib. Rarely though.
Cute baby. Let's have a play date!! Ha ha.
I don't feel apreciated, but I must be. I only require a baby. They can't pack a diaper bag to save their life, so I have everything she needs. A bag, diapers, formula, food, spoons, snacks, toys... Dave told me to get a crib from the start. It's tempting. I will probably get an adjustable car seat. She's outgrowing the carrier, and I do occasionally go places with her.
Anyway... The starter I have is finally smelling more like food than glue. I was raised using flour and water paste. I've seen bubbles and I've seen alcohol (not knowing what it was). My grandfather owned a bakery. I asked my mother why we never knew about sourdough. She said she didn't know anyone was interested in it. With 7 kids in 10 years, I guess keeping order was first on her mind.
I do laugh when I read about feeding the starter. A fridge pet sounds accurate!
Again with the feedings, people have different rules on the when and how. I think I'm okay. I just keep thinking about the fermented feed, and relax.
I saw a pancake recipe that uses 2 cups of the starter. I think I'll be making it a lot.
The thing about "do it how you choose " is that my sourdough starter is more 2:1 than equal parts. I am a good enough cook to adjust a recipe as needed. I just wonder how nervous cooks deal. If their sourdough is runny, and the recipe doesn't clue them in on how to thicken it ... Definitely a down side to so many ways of making the starter.
