Okay guys, riddle me this.
I've got one laying in the middle of the coop. At first I thought it was that she was dropping them off the roost, but I don't think that is what is happening...I guess maybe it could be only because I had a light in the coop that was turning on well before daylight but I took it out when we got to 12 hrs natural light and it was only giving them about 1 additional hour. She is one that lays at the same time every day. My chickens have never read that manual where it says they lay a little later every day. So I guess maybe her body is used to laying at a certain time and it's still dark then. I took the light away right before this started happening. The egg is in the same spot on the coop floor and there is no "nest" around it.
