Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Finally time to hatch out those sexlinks, huh?

Hey, it's July again.  Did Roger lay her annual egg?
Roger took credit for one. I can't prove it. And neither can she........Yes....Red and Black sex links are in the bator. I think 18 altogether. Only question is if my rooster has done his part.

No flood but the rain has been relentless. Hardest I have ever seen it rain here was last week. Flash flooded a lot of areas but I am high and dry.

Yeah, they showed the flooding on the news. Looked really bad. As much as I've been wishing for rain, wouldn't want that much. Glad you are on high ground. Did you set Roger's egg?

Here's hoping your rooster is batting a thousand! And hope you keep us posted. You have been missed!

Roger is not housed with the rooster. And she lies about the eggs. But she is getting company in her plush "broody" coop when and if I get chicks. That should be interesting.......I will keep you posted

So far, the eggs have been laid on the floor under the boxes. Been there, done that. No biggie. Last night I saw that a box had been arranged into a nest. So, it was no surprise, though very eggciting to find

today!! One in the box (the other nestbox was nestled too) and the other two in the back corner behind the feed. Another place the last flock liked to lay eggs on occasion.
I am not doing anything to encourage using the nest. I keep thinking about it, but they look like they will figure it out soon on their own!

congratulations MC! glad to hear they are laying for ya! mine are slowing down a little with this heat. ughhhh! don't blame them....;)
