Ooooohhh.
Vaguely remember that one. I thought it might be something from Lord of the Rings which I've never read.
I've not read it either. Poe is awesome though. Switching schools so much, I had to analyze his work constantly since each school was at a different level in their education. The worst was N.J. to Ohio. Ohio was two full years behind. I needed a few credits to graduate when I moved there my junior year. The principal suggested summer school and graduating at 16. I so wish my mother had allowed it.
Anyway (boy, I talk a lot!) I spent the last two years having to read his work over and over again.

Hasn't changed much in 45 years! When I moved to CA from NJ in 1971, I was a year ahead. It was the middle of 1st grade. Talk about boring! Wish I had been skipped up then. Later, the 5th grade teachers wanted me to skip 6th, but mom said no because I'd be going into junior high without my peers. I loved my 6th grade teacher and remember learning a lot in that class, so not such a bad deal. Years later, I found out that he made up different tests for me so I would get something wrong once in a while! He also had a wood shop in his classroom, and we had to make 3 projects during the year. Can't imagine a teacher having saws and hammers in class these days. It was really a good thing, too!

W4W, that was by far the best description of a chickens behavior. period. chickenraiser, your EE is perfectly normal and I'm glad to hear that she is checking it all out as she should be! bet you get an egg within a month from her...
MC, I just love Duckling... she is so much like Wrangler... the instant that child is through the door - off come the clothes! now she's at the age where it's a bit of a struggle to take her photo because she won't leave anything on but panties. however! important jobs are her thing too, and I gotta say, that even if it takes a little longer to get things done... it's worth letting her flex every ounce of her independence! Mylee makes lots of different foods all by herself, can make coffee and tea, takes care of any and all animals, is respectful and kind and loving - sure, she can kick it up like any kid her age.... but now that Santa is watching, she remembers the few times she was naughty and she was scared she was going to get coal for Christmas. her Oma and I explained that because she was always able to recognize and learn, said "sorry" or cleaned up her mess of toys... Santa took the eraser he made and took the coal mark away. We reminded her of all the wonderful things she's done all year and her Oma gave her an Advent Calendar, she got the piece of chocolate and was comforted. ahhh children. I miss her so much.
on my chicken front, all is quite well - EE Beryl did remain with the flock, her pooped up butt didn't return, the installed indoor dirt bath took care of that... plus she's eating like a pig, I'm happy to report! the potty gang is also doing great, Zira is walking forward for 2 days now, is in a much larger kennel base, pics on facebook... the chicks are thriving with their tiny Mama... who still has a couple of week to heal for that leg of hers, but she's coming along. the new feeders are amazing. I added two gallons worth of feed to the Dome, although they weren't in need... I'll have to pick up some chick feed tomorrow, but I have a $10 coupon, so I'm going to get cat, dog and chicken food so I can use it! oh and cat litter, don't forget the cat litter... MC, remind me tomorrow will ya? lol
and lastly, on the knee front... some know because I posted it on Facebook, I have torn cartilage and meniscus that won't heal on its own. boo hiss! I stinkin' did this squatting down to take a picture of my chickens! I guess it was just a matter of time... so I see the surgeon on the 15th as was scheduled back in November... it all depended on the MRI, and the guy asked me if the doc said anything and so I told him... and he said, "yep, he's right". and then he told me (which he probably shouldn't have, but I'm grateful he did) that it's bad enough that I should have the surgery. that it will not heal, at least not for months and months and if I continue to overuse and squat without the surgical correction, it never will. I do heal well, so this probably is as bad as he says, I will recover 100% no matter how torturous the physical therapy might be... maybe it won't be bad. we'll see. some folks have had great luck with the surgery, others, not so much.... but I'll say this... (I talk more than MC...) I smashed my face in an accident in my 20's, and needed major facial reconstruction surgery. I'm actually in plastic surgery medical texts, and they filmed my surgery because they had never seen anything like it... blah blah... so when they took the cast off my face a week after surgery, they told me it would be a few weeks before my bruising went away and a few hours before the "squareness" of my face (from the cast) would smooth out. my face was smooth in 15 minutes and they about took a step back when they saw my bruising was already turning green. I didn't have black eyes... another week later and everybody would not believe that I had my surgery two weeks before. more like two months, they would say... and I'd have to prove it. so silly... but the point is, I heal well and fast. (don't ask me what time it is... I'll tell you how to build a clock

I love to hear interpretations of what can be seen. I do see other things in it besides the dancing chicken, but I see that the most. for my view, the second leg is the small bit... you know... the dancing foot.
