Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Well, I am not complaining because they are a beautiful color. My Rhode island red eggs are very large. So...
Two, two! Today I got two!
Once my pullets start to lay
They seem to know
That to stay out of soup,
To the nesting boxes they go!

How old are they, cheeka? Poor Belle. Accident with her eye? Better watch the good one. The camera flash makes it look like she might have a cataract growing. Her coat is so pretty and glossy. Periwink looks like a happy puppy that just got an awesome present in Chester!

That's a very pretty Herend!

Isn't is fun to get colored eggs?

Someone thought this looked like a painting. I thought it looked like a puzzle (kinda the same thing, I know!)
What do you art critics think? Good picture or "yeah, right!"?

Very cute photo! It would make a challenging puzzle, all that stripey dark green in the back. You can get a favorite photo printed out on canvas for not too much money. (

I just gave myself an idea for a present!) I wonder if they have a similar thing for making a personalized jigsaw. Would be cool!

Really happy to hear you have fertile duck eggs! Of course, partly selfish on my part because I know you will share lots of baby duckie pictures!!!!

The previous owner was impressed by the photo and I don't think she is sure it's really a photo! Lol! Especially since the drake has put on weight. He stopped eating food when his previous mate died. Mealworms and vegetables (plus rice) wasn't keeping the weight on. Now he eats his feed. Even when I changed to crumble. I was told neither would eat crumble.
Idk about you guys, but pellets never last as long as crumble! I tried pellets again a month ago. It lasted at least a week less.

You can send Walmart a photo (go to their site, and click on the photo department) and they will make a puzzle. Or ornament, mug, keychain, poster...

Geeeze. All this technology stuff. I can't keep up.

Pellets for the big chickens have been great. With crumble, they would spending a lot of time scooping it out of the feeder onto the ground. Guess they were searching for the occasional goody. They don't do that with the pellets. Haven't found pellets small enough for the Seramas, though. The dirt in their run is about a quarter crumbles!

My duckies always got crumbles. Little bit at a time since it was always getting wet. Dabble-dabble!

I keep the food away from the water. Someone suggested that. It works. Not a mile apart! Just like three feet.
Duckling was brought here around noon. I'm told she'd been vomiting. She's been asleep for a while. Poor little kid. Still trying to understand why her mom was giving her chicken nuggets for breakfast. :-D

hey everyone! love the duck pic, it's quite good, healthy critters...

congrats on eggs, I'm lucky - I get one from the Dome everyday, roughly 23, 3+.old girls... nothing but cream, different shapes, not sure who is actually laying, and about 5-6 bantam eggs a day from a mix of ages. and they lay all cream. I haven't gotten a tinted egg yet, not since I lost Peach and gave away Merida and Elinor. probably shouldn't have... but Merida actually died at about 8 months, not sure why, but Elinor is doing great and I should get hatching eggs, cross of :polish Crested Roo and her blue egg... might get light blue laying offspring, never know... and I do have one of Peach's sons left in my flock, he has one of each hopefully... but he could have 2 copies of brown... he only hatched from a green egg... can't wait to see some tint again.

Pups are great, Tinkerbell, the Mama is 3.5, definitely has a weak eye, should never have been bred, also has had corrective surgery for a weak tendon in the knee that is common with Pugs. I have "goober" cream to put on her eye, and will be taking her to my vet at the end of the week. she's current on shots, but I need to know more about her eyes, and get a better treatment. plus make arrangements to have her and Periwinkle spayed. Peri is 6 months old. Chester is due too...

so I saw the surgeon today and he can't get me on his schedule until Feb 3 unless someone cancels. 6 more weeks.
