Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

the house is under contract. first people who looked at it offered full price. so now... if anyone else wants it, they have to offer more and back and forth it will go! doesn't matter, I got exactly what I asked and as far as I'm concerned, it's done. people are coming in a half hour to look... and the family who was here this afternoon were very enthusiastic and obvious that they loved it... so we may have a bidding war. the house is worth significantly more than I'm asking. I just have to get out of here. trouble now is, if it goes to this person, the closing is scheduled while I'm at the Mayo Clinic. have to either change the date or see if my lawyer will do it without me there...

2nd offer came in last night. being written up this morning. then anyone who has seen the house will be asked if they want to bid. all will be asked for their highest bid... the first people to offer will be given no info regarding amount offered by 2nd family, but will be asked to make their highest bid. my Dad set me up with a great Realtor in Colorado. will be speaking to him later this morning, 2 hour time difference... it's still too early to call him.

I understand that that is "how it goes" with bidding, but it still stinks for the buyer. I can "afford" $50 for my landscaper every week, but if I can get him for $30 ...
 
I certainly understand getting a bargain... believe me! and even still, this house appraises for near $180K, so I've priced it pretty low to begin with. I didn't want to wait months for an offer that would be about what I'm getting now anyway...

The house we are in now had a bidding war. We went a little over the asking price and didn't expect to get it, but our realtor worked for us, telling the seller about our little boy and baby on the way. Turns out the people selling had raised their son in this house, and really wanted it to go to a family, so we go it. We still had to match the highest bid, though. They weren't stupid!

You could also do what those people did, and wait a full two weeks for the house to be on the market before accepting an offer. You might get more people interested and get yourself closer to the actual value of your place.

Anyway, looks like things are moving forward (and westward) for you. You can take beautiful photos of the Rockies and we will only be 1 hr different time wise!

I want to be gone from here so bad and so fast... I don't care about the $$, which I know sounds crazy... but I'll fall apart if I stay here alone any longer. once Wrangler and her Oma leave... I head to the Mayo Clinic. it would be incredible, but possible for me to not return to NY after... I could be moved by mid August if we hustle!

No, not crazy at all. You need to be near people who can give you real support. Hope it works out quick for you.
