Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

The duck is adjusting. She was the big sister/mom of the two older Rocks and the turkey. The smaller rocks have two moms. One left to return to laying when they were about six-weeks. A month later, Bonnie is still wanting to fuss over them. They have been in the SPR pen for three or four days. She is adjusting okay.

Sturgis was getting scritches!

The rocks look great. Turkey and Pekin too, although that duck sure wanted to get in with the chickens.
Partridge rocks are one of the few breeds where I think the females are prettier than the males.

They are Silver Penciled rocks--I had Partridge rocks and the are very pretty too! I entered a picture of them in a contest once--did not win though.

I knew that. Brain glitch. Same goes for the partridge, though... such pretty hens.

Sis and I went out exploring yesterday... in the rain!!!

We stopped at this shop that donates proceeds to support HIV/aids patients.

They had excellent roof ornaments!

Who wouldn't want a goat??

I have sixteen or so dozen eggs still in the fridge from the past month. Another dozen plus still warm.
One Pekin, the turkey and a SPR pullet have not laid yet. I have not gotten a green egg from a hen and pullet for several weeks. I actually think two or three girls from February never laid. Not even sure about the second broody momma that I separated from the young a few weeks ago.
7 brown eggs the last few days, and one or two duck eggs.

I have a lot of eggs saved up too. I also have a new egg layer that just started this week.

I am in better shape for eggs than last years. I was nearly out my now and relying on the six chicks I hatched from trader joes eggs. I almost had to buy eggs!

Wait it out! Wait it out! Here is the irony. I don't want the pullets I have. Well, the mutt ones. That would leave me with duck eggs (I am still not entirely used to) and that would probably be it. If I didn't have ducks (which I only have to help out a desperate woman) I would be in trouble. I don't eat a lot of eggs, but I don't want to go back to store eggs!!

MC, if you had to, you could probably find someone near who sells fresh eggs.

Ron, I have so many older hens molting now, lucky if I get any eggs at all, but you just made me think one of my new pullets might be laying. An Ameraucana hen has been laying pretty steadily, but noticed 1 of her eggs this week is a lot smaller. Maybe the EE pullet is laying! What are the chances the EE lays the same bright turquoise color? I would be really happy if she did. My other EE lays a grayish green. Can an older hen that's been laying regularly suddenly lay smaller eggs?
