Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Aretha is confirmed. It was her eggs I found in the box. I kept everyone inside until noon. Aretha laid in the box, and a Pekin laid in the back where she always does. I might get another duck and chicken egg soon.

I guess I didn’t say that the quail are laying. I’m not sure if I have two or three, but I swear it’s three going by color.

I get two brown backgrounds, and a light with blue or black spots. The spots can be changing because of dirt.
Location of duck and chicken eggs has been a whole thing. They are crazy. I had a perfect chicken and duck egg day, and two (above) quail eggs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem the quail are fertile yet. Duckling is unhappy about that.

If they have been laying for a couple of weeks and you see mating, collect for a week and incubate the quail eggs.

That is the best test of fertility.

I still cannot get over it! Eight quail eggs yesterday! I was still surprised to see three, and then they just kept coming yesterday! I just... I kid you not, I just can’t believe it. I think it’s been too long since I’ve had new layers. The all of a sudden thing is too much for me.
I’m currently at three duck eggs and a chicken in the big coop. The five pullets are gearing up. They are 16 weeks on Friday. I’ve only had one pullet out of about one hundred lay at 16 weeks, but I am hoping to see it again.

Duckling has been happy since we began getting quail eggs, but has been crazy for the last few days since they have been turning up fertile. It’s her insistence that we incubate that has me finally doing it. She is too funny about it.
