ACW, how's the little peep doing? it's been a quiet day round here... i cut the grass for 3 hours, came in for a drink of water, sat down for a moment, and woke up 4 hours later... i must've needed it...
OK, todays egg count????
my little gang is 16 weeks, 2 days old. I've started to add layer feed and oyster shell to their diet, which they devoured. Only one of my BR's is getting quite red in the face (Betty), and one of my EE's is pinkish (Isis). The RIR's are still pale. The only one who squats for me is Wilma, the other BR who is barely pink in the face... but she's been squatting for me since she was 4 weeks old. She likes me to smooth her feathers for her and will squat and spread her wings and lift all her feathers. One of these days I will have someone take a picture of her doing that for me. I can't take the picture, bc my hands are full, and she's so cute, I just cannot resist. the best is when she comes from the dust bath. she hops in my lap, gets all comfy, spreads her feathers and dumps a load of dirt in my lap.
Eggs,
can't count them before they're laid. have to wait til they've been made.
Eggs,
shouldn't count them before they hatch. smart to wait, your numbers'll match.
Eggs,
love to eat them, and want my first one, who will lay it? will waiting be fun?
the answer is yes, resoundingly loud!
of my first egg, I shall be so proud!
the very first egg, won't be eaten by me,
I'll blow it and paint it for the top of my tree!
an Egg Angel I'll make, with feathers I find
if my first egg is blue, I surely won't mind!
so the waiting begins,
OK has a grin.
he knows how I feel
to want that first meal.
Eggs Eggs Eggs!
