Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Good morning fellow first time chicken owners! How did everyone enjoy the freezing temps thismorning? Anyone have ice in the water?
My girls enjoyed some scratch while Mom made them their oatmeal. Raisins and apples in the oatmeal, ofcourse!
Is cinnamon okay? With the few taste buds they have, should I even bother?

Volume is more important. Mine ate a half of a pumpkin yesterday. If I give them oatmeal they drag it thru the dirt before they eat it. So YES put cinnamon on it to mask the taste of the dirt.

If you get just a little creative you can turn that oatmeal into a pie and get full credit for one pie. One pie is equal to three deluxe treats. So if you go to the trouble might as well make it count. They do keep score. Trust me on this.

Zero... Zero....! Zero eggs were laid today! So I made them a Pie. it's fresh oatmeal with cinnamon, fresh apple sliced nice and small, leftover mixed berry compote spooned into the center, and all kinds of mixed seeds sprinkled on top the greyish "face" features are made from a leftover buckwheat pancake. that was gone first! they devoured the entire Pie in record time and the girls who do lay eggs spent little time free ranging after the Pie... they went back in... maybe to lay some eggs??? if they were afternoon layers to begin with, and 25 hours average for an egg... they should be evening layers this week...
found out how old the bantam is, hatched June 6, so she is 18 weeks. one of her hatchmates laid an egg today... glad I finished the last of the chick feed and finisher feed with her... she's been on laying feed for about a week now, since I ran out... I am worried a little that I may have started her on layer feed too soon (little under 17 weeks)... if she's 18 weeks old now, will she be all right? I didn't start the others on layer til they were 20 weeks...
