I have a peacock, 3 peahens, a Cochin rooster, 2 Cochin hens and a dozen guinea fowl all in one pen, they have grown up together.... One of the peahens is sitting on a nest and eggs should hatch any day.... Will the Peachick(s) be ok or should I put a caged area around them ?? What do yall think? Don't know how the others may take to a baby ( or 3) Peachick.... Help! Advice please!!

Let her hatch them first, and you should be there watching them closely after they are out of the nest, if you saw any bird trying to peck the chicks you will need to move them for sure.

I would definitely separate them ( mom and chicks) from General population. I would let mom raise them as its so much easier to have mom teach but if you can keep her and babies penned til they are old enough you won't lose them. Is she a first time mom, sometimes they are clueless.

I had guineas (I think) kill some newly hatched babies and sometimes chickens too. :(

Watch them closely for cocci and have treatment on hand!
