should i caponize my little chick

There are places where you can mail some feathers, and they check the sex of the bird by its DNA. The cost isn't too awful--$20 or so.

ooo do you have the link?

I've used it once, for two chickens. As they got older, I was able to confirm that it was correct--the female eventually laid eggs, and the male crowed and mated with hens. But it saved me a lot of wondering before they got old enough to do those things!

alright so I guess I'll just wait and see what she he is
The shape of the crest, or topknot on the head is the easiest way I found to sex silkies at 4-6 months of age if they don't crow by then.

I do wing feather sexing, but it can be tricky if you're not experienced at it.
