I already have 4 pekin's and 3 rouens but I was wondering if I should get another breed and if so what kind. I live in northern Alberta so I can't be to susceptible to cold temperature's.

I'm going to have to say runners! (My personal duck of choice.)

I vote runners also! Or call ducks, but I'm not sure how theyd do in cold temperatures.

If you really want a challenge, try Calls. I think they need some protection from the weather, though.

I don't think any ducks are "more challenging". They are all easy. The Calls are difficult to hatch is why they are more challenging.

Or, if you want something cold hardy that will keep you on your toes, try geese.

Quote:We've got ducks and geese and geese by far are EASIER and less messy and more friendly. I highly recommend them- plus they make great guards to your flock- their very protective.
