Should I give duck duckling?

Sorry about your drake

In my experience candling, I dont see much moving. I would remove the empty eggs though, you dont want a stink bomb...
Duck eggs take 28 days to hatch

I feel like I don't know enough yet. We had gotten two babies when the drake died. She got out and played with them (they are about a month old now) yesterday, but then wanted them to follow her and they wouldn't. It wasn't long after she went back to sitting.

Do you think it would help if I cracked on of the empty (well, duckling free) eggs and had that with the new duckling? Maybe put some of her egg yoke on it?

I heard somewhere that a gal can be fertile for 2 weeks after the guy is out of the picture. Do you know if that's true? If so, then the 28 days changes.

Uh, no. Thats not gonna end well. There may be bacteria in there, you dont want them getting sick. The yolk has nothing to do with it

Would she keep sitting on them if the babies are deceased?

They do stay fertile for up to three weeks after the drake is gone, but the 28 days is counted from the time she starts to sit on the eggs, it doesn't have to do with how long the eggs she lays are fertile :)
