This is just the beginning of day 23 and me egg has still not hatched. I know that some hatch real late but... Should I keep waiting? It's a silkie egg. I thought they normally came early.

Candle the egg to check for movement. If I had an egg unhatched at 23 days, I candle to locate egg sac and then I make a tiny hole over the egg sac and start chipping away at the shell until I can see inside with a flash light. If the chick is still alive, check to see if the membrane is dried out. If it is, you're gonna need to assist the hatch. If everything looks good in there, cover egg loosely with a warm, wet paper towel and put it back in the bator, but it still may need your help.

Don't give up just yet, I'd say your best bet is to candle it and see if its alive. I have an egg I'm concerned about right now, also on day 23. I candled it just now and it is still alive, still moving and still has thick strong veins visible at the edge of the air sac so obviously still isn't ready to hatch.
