Okay I know i'm really anxious but its had the same hole in the egg for 14 hours now...you can see its beak sometimes and it chirps, but it isn't turning its head and zipping....what should i do..

Leave it alone. It can take 24 hours or longer from its first pipping the shell til they hatch out. It's learning to breathe, finishing absorbing the yolk sac and resting. It's hard work coming out of the shell. If you open the bator now and try helping you could hit a vein with bleeding. There are reasons they take their time. Plus you can ruin the hatch with humidity issues and temp.

I totally agree with Tuffoldhen!

okay its just so hard when its peeping...it sounds like "help me!"

Patience!! lol Go find something to do and take your mind off the incubator hatch! It really helps!!!

I usually watch a movie, clean, hang out with my chickens, garden, anything but watch the incubator!

I agree...sorta. Well we had an egg hatch last Monday and the chick is still alive today. The membrane turned rubbery after all night after pipping with no progress and hum. was down to 55% after adding extra warm water so we decided to help...saw some blood, put it back wrapped in warm moist paper towel, helped it again. It eventually came out, still connected to the shell, but that eventually dried up and it turned out fine. Maybe we helped a little too early and were just lucky it made it?
