So I have several questions, first are these eggs in the pictures fertile? Pretty sure they are just wondering. And second. I have three Dominique hens that are all about 8 months old. I know Dominique’s do not tend to go broody a ton and I was wondering. Should I incubuate their eggs and have Dominique babies or buy some buff Orpington chicks and raise hen to set on their eggs and like me? Please answer all questions when you reply, thanks! ( and notice he rings in the home which may mean there fertile, answer all thanks )
They look fertile. If you'd like to try incubating them, why not try it? Do you have all of the supplies you need to do that? A buff orpington chick can take a long time to become mature and then go broody - many many months, and that's if you get a hen, and if it wants to go broody. I say, just do what you absolutely want to do. If you'd like a different breed, buy the breed you absolutely want, because you will not stop until you get it, I think.
Do you know any other breeds besides buffs and silkies thst are also good mothers? Cause I like buffs and they usually go broody and I would just be waiting till next year to have them hatch chicks
