I have Penecillen in the fridge. keep it on hand for the critters, I am allergic to it though........

I vote lance it yourself. Sterile seems to be a good word to keep in mind though. Antibiotics seems like another good word.

You could take Cephalexin capsules- Amazon.com has it, they call it "Fish-Flex"- same thing. It comes in 250mg caps, so you'll have to take 2 each dose. 2 Caps 2 times a day for 14 days.

I can't believe you are still talking and have not seen a Dr. yet.
I have an uncle who had a little infection in his ankle, and being the man he was, he did the home remidies and moved on. That was several years ago....today, he is a double ampute, due to this little infection. This may not be common, but is it worth the risk? My legs are worth far more then a co-pay....go to the Dr.

You are so very right.....infection can ruin the life as you now know it if you let it progress. A co-payment is minimal compared to other possible outcomes.
