I was looking at the Brinsea, but they are too expensive for me. Price not bad, but with the shipping, it's too much but they look terrific! Thanks for the compliment on my egg, somehow along the way I turned into an artist, go figure!
Thanks for taking a look at my website, glad you enjoyed looking at them. They are my 3rd love after DH and my kids. Funny, I have my hatching eggs in my studio, but my studio is chock full with bins and bins of empty eggs of all kinds, from finch to ostrich and everything inbetween. I literally have eggs everywhere, so I thought it was the appropriate place to hatch some out

I just got back onto the site after a few days of running like a chicken without the head...
A new grandk-son..
But in a little comforting thought.. I had 3 incubators last week that went cold after bad storm rolled thru our area knocking out lot of people's electric service.
I had one Inc. that was to hatch May 14, yesterday... Temps had gotten down to 69 degrees.. Off 1 day and 3 1/2 hrs..
I didn't know if I'd have any to hatch or not.. But when I got home Wed. Night from my son's house, the wife stated.. "Hey, did you know you have some baby chicks ,,
I had 2 at that time about 1/2 day early.. Now it's on the 22nd day and they are still slowly pipping..
One thing I must mention is that I noticed something weird about one of it's eyes. I thought that maybe there was some membrane still stuck to it so I took it out of the bator for a closer look at it turned out to be a jagged little piece of shell under it's eyelids!
I quickly got a moistened q-tip and worked it out from under the lids and it looks just fine now, not closed or weeping so I think it's ok. Thank goodness I noticed or it may have caused an infection down the road.
Now, I'm just praying that 1 of the 3 eggs that are left in the bator will hatch so this poor little thing will have a friend. It seems kinda lonely and lost. It loves to be wrapped up in a warm towel and snuggled and it responds to my voice as soon as it hears me. Too cute!
Cross your fingers that we get 1 more! Congratulations on your new grandson and your new chicks! Lot of love going around! I had no idea this was so fun! I guess they are tougher than we think to survive through the such temp changes. Mind you, I only have 1 out of 15!
Here are some pics of our lone little chick hatched out on day 25! It's a light yellow fluff ball but we have no idea what kind it is. It hatched out of a light brown egg with small dark even speckles. Can anyone tell us what it is?
The pictures are of it being held by my daughter who is in love with it and also of it in the brooder snuggling up with the big chick donated by my daughter to keep it company. Still no action going on with the 3 remaining eggs, but I have decided to keep them until day 28 since I read on here that someone had one hatch as late as 27 days.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that responded to this thread and my other thread that, your words of encouragement were really needed and I can't tell you how much I enjoy this site. I've been on it nonstop since I found it!
