So I just read in another post that calcium can build up in the kidneys of a chicken that is not actively laying and kill them. Obviously my cock is not laying so should he be having layer? He is about a year and two months and the hens are the same age, and have been laying since they were eighteen to twenty weeks old, so he has been having it for a while. Should I switch to grower and put out calcium supplement (The chickens won't eat calcium if they don't need it)? Has anyone ever had a problem with their cock on layer? Or does anyone know if what I read is true or false? Thanks in advance for any advice!
