Should Someone Be Fired for Failed Christmas Attack?

I've heard about 4 different stories about that so I'm not sure. The blame game has started, that's what caught my funny bone. Something slips, something terrible almost happens and the first thing we do is look for a scapegoat. Some of the comments left by the public are pretty funny because it shows their level of....... sophistication?

Looking at the list of who they suggest firing, the baggage screeners aren't listed. Silly as this sounds, shouldn't it be the guy who's job it is to you know, find this stuff? Oh well, so much for logic.

I honestly don't think Janet Napolitano takes her job serious enough. "Man-made disasters"? Come on!

If anyone goes, I think it should be her. Isn't it her job to coordinate info from the different departments?

Where would you start??? There were failures on so many levels that it's amazing. I believe that we Americans need to stop taking so many coffee breaks and start doing the jobs we're being paid to do, and are expected to do correctly. I know that I'm generalizing, but every day I see evidence that the people we depend on are thinking that it's ok to take shortcuts in their jobs. Doesn't matter if it's the cashier at the grocery store, or the gas station attendent, or the mail carrier. (Or those who deliver your precious eggs from Murray McMurray). Why is it so hard to just do what's right, and if you don't, take the consequences.

Soooo- why don't they have anyone that works the airlines in Denmark listed? Or wherever it was he got on.
When there's an outbreak of Salmonella or ecoli- they trace back to the location where the problem originated. What's the difference- they are both dangers to the American Public.

The guy got on the plane in Amsterdam. If anyone is to blame, it sure as heck isn't here. The guy was escorted off the plane in Detroit. He didn't go thru customs. Customs came and got him off the plane. In my opinion, The person at the ticket counter in Amsterdam should be to blame. They let the rules slide, and their rules aren't necessarily the same as our rules. So, maybe everyone needs to be on the same darn page for once.

My DH has been on the flight and that airport many, many times over the past several years. Their screenings aren't like here.

The New York Post headline for the incident was "Great Balls of Fire."

You must admit that despite the near disaster, the headline is unbelievably funny.

My concern is that the present administration DID NOT treat him as a terrorist or threat to our national security and let him be taken into police custody and given Miranda rights. Now he is protected from layers of laws and lawyers...we will never know what the true threat was....if any
