Should we try to adopt a neighbor’s chickens?

I put fake eggs in the lay boxes. They stop eating eggs if they hit a hard fake egg, and no reward.
We use fake eggs, too. Could be what stopped her from eating them, not sure. Her old owner claimed he used fake ones, too, and it didn’t help, but I can’t verify if that was true or not. I have had no issues with her or even noticed her trying, so I would say it’s no longer an issue for her!

Not in my experience, roll out boxes are the only thing that works for me, unless the egg eater learns to hang on to the egg somehow. I do not play around with egg eaters, if i catch a hen with egg on its face I will cull that hen.
I would resort to roll out boxes, also, if this was still an Issue.

I have a hen that eats broken eggs, but does not break eggs to eat them. Only ever eats the broken thin shelled or deformed eggs so far, but she's only a year old. She seems to enjoy eggshell more than oyster shells, and will raid the veggie beds for shell bits when allowed to free range.

A little late, but this month marks Ravioli’s 2 year adoption anniversary with us! Some updates for anyone curious about my little RavRav:

- First and foremost she still is not an egg eater, but won’t pass up an egg I crack open, neither will any of the other ladies, tho!

- I estimate she is around 4 or 5 years old, but she is still spunky and lays pretty regularlu

- Although she lays regularly after molting, she often lays from the roost and starts to get glitchy during the summer. Her eggs get very soft and she stops laying all together but pretends to. I’m always relieved when she stops laying bc she frequently becomes egg bound during the summer no matter how much calcium I give her. She gets a good reset after molting and although she lays from the roost often, she lays normal eggs for a while, thankfully.

- She is still lowest in the pecking order, but doesn’t get picked on. I would even venture to say that her and French Fry are good friends.

- And lastly, she is my absolute favorite chicken and we have such a special bond! We even have a secret spot where she joins me in the mornings for some snacks just for her.

Here are some updated pictures of her:
