I call it the chicken spaceship.

I made a home for my baby chicks.... They enjoy scavenging, flying, and jumping around. I got soft shavings on the bottom and limbs from trees running through the chicken wire so they can perch up if they wanted. I got chicken wire around the sides. Plus a sliding door so i can change there food, water, and shavings. For 2 week old chicks they are loving it. Plus they are becoming less scared of us and more wanting to play.

Here is the coop that my sweet hubby built to house our twenty-four chickens:

Started work on expanding our raised coop today. Got it 90% done or so. Needs support bars for roof still. Gaps secured around the edges. Need to adjust the sleeping perch. Little things.Roof over the walk area still needs extension. Coop dimensions are 4'x just over 12'.


Almost all of the lumber and roofing is reclaimed from neighbors projects. Next up is run expansion. Expanding our secure run by a lil over 300sqft.
